KNOWLEDGE IS EXPERIENCE

Recapitulation
Active Conscience means Application of Knowledge to the Decision-Making Process; Applying past actions to the current circumstances and as a guideline for future actions. Focus is on Application of Knowledge.

Experience is the result of Decisions made and actions taken, in the past and includes my education and beliefs. Education includes formal education-knowledge absorbed at school and in college. And is most often a mental experience. Informal education includes both physical and mental experiences. It is knowledge absorbed from my beliefs, my profession or in the work environment or through living or existence, which is the same as 'decisions made and actions taken'.

Believing means that I belong to various value systems:

It is often difficult to distinguish between the various beliefs. Because, they are most often dependent upon and heavily influence each other. The common element is Peer Pressure, which demands compliance, as a result of which it defines human behavior and attitude. It is experience that often result in physical and mental consequences

TYPES OF EXPERIENCE

All experiences are either good or bad. We define it by the end result: A good experience will result in-Happiness, Satisfaction or Pleasure; A bad experience will result in Unhappiness, Dissatisfaction, Pain or Suffering. One could describe it as the difference between pain and pleasure

The difference between: Perception and Reality; Long term and Short term consequences and its relation to the Contradictory nature of Experience.

An experience that is perceived, in the short term, as good, that is pleasurable, may in the long term turn out to be the exact opposite. In similar fashion, a short-term experience that is perceived as bad may in the long run result in happiness. In short what is perception in the short term develops in the long run into actuality or reality. The immediate result is in opposition to the end result.

For example, the immediate consequence of an honest opinion is often negative in nature, causing pain and suffering to every one concerned but, over time and with patients it often results in happiness or benefits those that experienced the process, from perception to reality, A brief moment of pleasure means that in the long term you will pay the price. On the other hand speaking the truth means that you pay the price now but reap the benefits of your actions in the future.

The Meaning of Past Actions in relation to Active Conscience

The past is a study in human nature and consists of a vast reservoir of valuable information, with regard to human experience and endeavor. Active Conscience is like a filter that differentiates between the opposing elements in Human Experience. Choosing to accept those qualities in human behavior and character that form the very bases, the foundation stone, on which is built a civilization that reaches its greatest heights, in:

In Denying Human Experience

Human forgetfulness, which means an inactive conscience results in actions that are not based on thought or a decision making process. In short it is reaction more perception that reality. If so, you are denying yourself the lessons you are supposed to learn from past experiences. It is important to reiterate the fact that to every action there are physical and mental consequences. By denying experience you are ignoring or rejecting the consequence of action, even though it is deeply embedded in human consciousness, it is most irrational and extremely irresponsible behavior.

For example we all have in the past, during moments of weakness, made mistakes as a result of which we experienced feelings of extreme physical or mental anguish or some form or combination of the two. Often, we carry the scares with us long after the action has taken place. Years later when confronted with a similar situation, why would I deny myself this experience and make the same mistake again and again and have to suffer for it. I must apply my conscience to the experience as a whole, therefore I cannot deny it all. If my conscience is active, I can filter out those elements that result in Damage to the Soul.

Redefining Knowledge
To understand and learn the information available (the reservoir) and apply it to the decision making process and the choice of action, resulting in: The ability to distinguish between the perception and the actuality or reality of the experience.

SIMILARITIES IN DEFINITION

An Active Conscience is:

A continuously active conscience is:
Redefining Active Conscience
An ability to distinguish between perception and reality.

Active conscience defined as the harmony between the mind and body

For every experience there is a mental and physical consequence. An experience that is real and not perceived results in the harmony of the mental and physical consequences of that experience and the stimulation's are real and always positive. On the other hand an experience that is perceived to be real, means that the harmony is also perceived and not real. In the long run when things balance out and perception becomes reality there develops an opposition or disruption of the harmony between the mind and body experience. The stimulation is transformed from positive to negative. A negative simulation of either mind or body results in either mental or physical illnesses, bodily harm or injury and damage to the brain. A harmony between the two elements means mind over matter. The mind is controlling the functions of the body.

PROBLEM: FORGETFULNESS

Recapitulation
No application means an inactive conscience, which means that we humans tend to forget. It means the inability to apply knowledge to the decision making process and the choice of action. Resulting in the human tendency to forget, thus we are forced to begin the learning process all over again. A process of active-inactive conscience is critical in our understanding of human nature that encompasses all human endeavor and human experience.
Problem
The process of activation an de-activation. Why do we forget?

SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEM:

Perception is reality

A short-term experience that is good where perception is thought of as reality has a tendency to overwhelm the individual that experiences such an emotion. The pleasure derived or satisfaction is often so powerful as to make it impossible to continuously apply the knowledge resulting in an inactive conscience.

A short-term experience that is bad, where again the perception is treated as reality results in an extremely negative stimulation. The physical and mental consequences of which are perceived as causing great damage, pain and suffering. Thus, in extreme fear, we make decisions and take actions that are designed to avoid experiencing such an emotion again.

In short the pleasure derived from a perceived good experience and the pain suffered from a perceived bad experience results in forgetfulness, culminating in the process of de-activating the human conscience. In the long term we realize the error of our ways and are forced to re-activate our conscience. Further, what is perceived as bad experienced may in the long term turn out to be a bad experience and what is perceived as a good experience may in the long term turn out to be good experience.

What is required is patients, self-discipline or self-restraint to seek out the actuality of the experience. Towards this end, we have knowledge combined with an active conscience to support us in our efforts. Not acting on our perceptions is often beneficial in the long run. And if perception does becoming reality then we can always say I told you so.

The fundamental nature of beliefs

Human character or personality consists of values and beliefs. Derived from the individual's dependency on value systems that provides the necessary framework, guidelines or support system needed in the human struggle for survival and existence. Often, they have a tremendous impact on the decisions made and actions taken.

The safety and security provided by the system combined with the satisfaction and pleasure derived from belonging to such an organization develops in the individual a fierce resistance to applying knowledge to the task at hand. This is detrimental to rationale decision-making.

Observing this complacency and fanatical behavior forces others with active conscience, within the system, to take drastic measures in stemming the tide of discontent. Bringing about a revolution or change in thought and action (re-activating the over all conscience within the system). A fierce struggle ensues between those who prefer to keep the status quo or preserve a way of life and those that seek to free themselves from this obsessive nature and rigid structure often, with a great waste in human life and material.

The dilemma of Sensory Experience

Actions that result in immediate consequences or information that is communicated to us immediately, through the senses. Our senses our stimulated through constant interactions with various elements of nature and with other humans. It is primarily a critical and important element of the Human Biological System or Structure, a biological necessity, therefore, unavoidable. Such action is automatic; based on instinct, that is, a reaction. Action that is not based on any pre-concieved thought and derision-making process. It is a reaction to outside stimuli, quick and instinctive, with no time to think or make decisions.

Our sensory experience consists of the:

Often the sensory experience consists of the stimulation of more than one of the senses. One could also incorporate or include as part of this experience the pleasures derived from human contact and interactions including the elements of love, sexual desire and the pleasures derived from the Material possessions; which include our beliefs, value systems, the work experience and the possession of inanimate objects that ease the burden of life, the end result of human industry and economy, often looked upon as just reward for human endeavor and effort. A sensory experience could be as simple as watching a movie (combining our sense of vision and sound) or as complex as a relationship between a man and a woman, that combines the elements of love and sexual desire.

If it is instinctive and not based on thought and the decision making process:

Work and its effect on human conscience

As humans when confronted with the situation of Material Poverty, life often becomes a struggle for survival, a struggle to meet the basic necessities of life. Therefore we cannot afford or do not have the time, to concern ourselves with matters of extreme importance to the nation such as; its security, safety and development (from a political, social and economic point of view) in the present and into the future.

On the other hand, once we have found the necessary means and are able to satisfy our basic needs, we are constantly trying to achieve a position in society or a standard of living that provides the necessary comforts of life, in terms of material satisfaction. And once we achieve a certain level or status in life, like a character in Greek Tragedy, we declare ourselves unsatisfied or somehow unfulfilled. And so we seek greater heights determined to out do ourselves. This is considered most natural and a quality that is most admired or praised by others, providing us with the necessary incentive or pressure to reach the never-ending pinnacles of success.

Therefore when I come back home after a hard days work exhausted, emotionally and physically drained, consumed by this incessant desire, I do not have the time nor the inclination to concern myself, with regard to my rights and duties as a citizen; as a contributing member of a civilized society; or my responsibilities towards the freedoms I often take for granted. Thus I am helpless and extremely vulnerable willing to accept the quick and ready made solution to all my problems. My actions reflect this attitude and are not based on any pre-conceived thought or decision making process. This complacent attitude often results in power vacuums and the use and abuse of power.

IN CONCLUSION

In restating the above we can say that, out of fear, we humans resist all efforts designed to disturb our sense of material well being, in direct opposition to the long term consequence of or the actuality of experience. The key elements are the difference between material and actuality.(Next Page: Knowledge when considered in terms of a Developmental Process)
