KATYN FOREST MASSACRE

Polish deaths at Soviet hands

New York, from Jersey City, courtesy of Tony Classe and Terry di Paolo.

This picture associates horrific memories, past and present.
The Katyn Forest memorial in Jersey City, New Jersey, USA is directly across from where the WTC was.
In the foreground is a memorial to the Katyn Forest Massacre where Poles lost their life at the hands of the Soviets, so ordered by Stalin in 1940.
In the background are the smoldering ruins of the WTC, to the left is The World Financial Center and in the middle is where the towers once stood and about 3,000 lives were lost, 11th September, 2001.
