How to read the chart:
Each square on the chart shows the moon phase for the day. On each day you will find the moon phase at the start of the day and any changes that take place, plus the time of the change. If there is a full moon, dark moon or a quarter phase, they are also shown with their time change.

For example this square...

...shows that on the 19th, the moon is in Scorpio at the start of the day, moves into Sagittarius at 22.13 (or 10.13pm) and that the dark moon is at 15.27 (3.27pm). The dark moon glyph also signifies the beginning of the first quarter. Go to the main page on Moon Planting for more information about the moon in the signs and the quarter moons. A key to all symbols used is below the chart.

ALL TIMES GIVEN ARE FOR NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA AND ARE CALCULATED ON EASTERN STANDARD TIME and include daylight savings where applicable. To calculate times for other places in Australia not on EST:

Western Australia - deduct 2 hours
South Australia - deduct 30 minutes
Northern Territory - deduct 30 minutes
Queensland - deduct 1 hour
Victoria, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory are the same as NSW

TO CALCULATE GMT: Until the last Sunday of March 1999, deduct 11 hours. From the last Sunday of March 1999 until the last Sunday of October 1999, deduct 10 hours. From the last Sunday of October 1999 until the end of the year, deduct 11 hours.

United States - Deduct the following from the Australian times:
EST - minus 16 hours from last Sunday in March until last Sunday in October, other times minus 15 hours
Central - minus 17 and minus 16
Mountain - minus 18 and minus 17
Pacific - minus 19 and minus 18
Hawaii - minus 20 and minus 19
