Meditation On The Hermit

By Grey Wolf

May 9th 1998
I am tired of the physical illusion
So I climb the mountains of solitude
Travelling through the storms of loneliness
With the only companion the Great Spirit’s Light
That fills my soul and warms my night
This loneliness created by sadness
Is my teacher and my guide
With me stands the Grey Wolf
Who teaches me what is right
And that everything is as it’s supposed to be

Everybody is caught up in their duality
Where is the joy that I used to know
All my feelings and emotions come and go
My heart cries out in sorrow
And it never comes, this tomorrow

I follow your light
Through the day and night
And learn life’s lessons with my human impatience
Still the sadness and the pain remain
With me from this life and those before
For all eternity

My heart cries out for your support
In my aloneness, my resort
I travel this sacred path
To learn and grow so I may
One day rest in your light
Please Great Spirit accept me
In your infinite mercy forever me
And above all love me
