Crusty Capers: Scary Crusts |
In a bakery lived some loaves of bread, they were very soft, because they had no crust. Half of the loaves were marked with a square on top and the other half the loaves were marked with a circle on top.
They decided to call each other names because they were different. They decided that the loaves marked with a square will be called boys, and the ones marked the a circle will be called girls.
When the bread got big enough, most boy and girl loaves could cuddle and the baker would sometimes give them a new baby loaf, which also had a square or a circle on it. Then they would be called father and mother and have a family.
This is story is about a boy loaf named Billy and a man he met.
One day Billy was in a group of other boys. A man came and showed them all the different things they could do. He was very friendly, and seemed honest. He used to buy them things.
The boys thought how funny he looked with the thick crust that he had, but they loved him anyway.
The man's crust used to talk to him, and tell him lies. His crust was very clever at telling lies, and told him that he would become like one of the boys, if he rubbed hard against them. Because the crust was so thick and over-powering, the man believed what it said.
He went to Billy, and told he needed to drink beer to be a man. Billy trusted the him, because he was so good to him and his friends.
The man got the Billy drunk. Then he rubbed his hard crust hard against the Billy and really hurt him. Billy cried because of the pain.
He later became sober, and couldn't remember what happened. But he did notice the scratches on his body.
Even though he couldn't remember what happened, Billy became scared of men, but not knowing why. He started to think that when you show any adult love, they cause you harm (which wasn’t true).
Billy started to get a crust like the man's but of a different texture.
Billy grew up and because of his crust, was too scared to love anyone. He became very lonely.
Billy became a man.
Now he was the type of person he thought does bad things. His crust grew thicker and thicker. He became very sick.
A doctor fixed made him healthy again, but his crust it was still very thick, and became ill once more.
The baker came and told him that something bad happened to him when he was young.
Billy started to realize that it was a bad man's crust tricked the man into doing a terrible thing to Billy.
He remembered all the good times and realized that normally when you show love to people they love you back, and don't hurt you.
His thick crust started to shrink back, and the more he thought about it, the more crust fell off, eventually all his crust was gone, and he went off and warned the boys he met not to trust men with thick crusts.
