RESURRECTION
Here
I stand before you now
A
lamp without a light;
Once
illuminated by
The
flame of love so bright~
Should
I exhume my wounded trust
Now
buried in illusion?
I
fear the risk would be too grand
To
rectify delusions~
If
I were to free my hopes
From
the prison I have bound;
Would
you seize another chance
To
watch them shatter to the ground?
And
if I were to drown my doubts
In
the river of unbelief;
Would
they return to haunt me
With
a darker shade of grief?
A
certain touch or smile
Would
open the door to my heart;
But
I know you'd only step inside
To
turn around and then depart~
Here
I stand before you now
A
broken vessel in need of repair;
Waiting
to be resurrected
By
the beauty you tried to impair...
