You should check out one of the coolest slack bands around (or is it the slackest, cool band around?), Ed Slack and the Slackestra.
Ed Slack plays the hammond organ like a sick Greg Allman. The slackestra is unique among all slack bands in that they have pioneered the concept of the musical slack groove, which combines virtuosity with varying degrees of rhythmic, thematic, and formal slack. I dig their "recordings" (they almost never go into the studio, but you can find people who bootleg copies here & there), but live, they're out of this world.Ed Slack and the gang are fine musicians, and they do a lot for bringing a totally different music vibe to Lincoln, Nebraska and the surrounding hinterlands.
