THE HYPOTHETICAL REISSUES

Rhino's reissue program has generally been limited to material from Elvis' first two decades as a recording artist, ending with his departure from Warner Bros. Records in late 1997.

In 1998 Elvis signed a new deal with Polygram, which soon merged with Universal. Elvis' subsequent work has appeared on a variety of Universal-owned labels, including Mercury (Painted From Memory), Island (When I Was Cruel and Cruel Smile), Deutsche Grammophon (North, For The Stars, and Il Sogno), and Lost Highway (The Delivery Man).

As usual, Elvis has released quite a few songs in places other than his regular albums — non-album B-sides, new recordings on movie soundtracks, and collaborations with other artists on their albums. In addition, most of Elvis' recent albums have been released either with bonus tracks available only in certain territories or as an expanded two-disc edition issued months after the album's initial release.

This section is intended to catalog all of these "extra" tracks and unreleased recordings from 1998 to the present. I expect much of this material to be repackaged in the future, whether as Rhino-style bonus discs, stand-alone Taking Liberties/Out Of Our Idiot-style "odds and ends" collections, or in some other form entirely.

This section is a work in progress. I hope to add pages for For The Stars, North, and The Delivery Man as soon as possible.
