Introducing you to
the traditional Irish flute playing of Eoghan MacAogáin. Eoghan (pronounced like
Owen, the Welsh version of the same name), together with traditional musicians Gerry
McNamara from Limerick, Batt O'Connor from Kerry, Bernie Whelan from Clare and Mick
Cronin.
Eoghan's
long awaited second album "The Clare Hills", Consists
of a variety of slow airs, jigs and reels together with one song. While most of the tracks
are traditional, from various parts of Ireland , there are also some original compositions
in the traditional style.
Eoghan comes from a musical family in Dublin and has been living
in Limerick for many years. He can be found playing at informal sessions of traditional
Irish music in Limerick. Some good sessions in Limerick city are:
Nancy Blake's, Denmark St. : Mon. to Wed. nights
The Glen Tavern, Glentworth St.: Thur. night
Dolan's, Dock Rd.
: every night; Sun. all day
