People from all ages now have lots of chances to go on the internet to chat. This is called a cyber chat. Many find it interesting because of certain reasons. Little do people know that there are quite a number of disadvantages which can cause lots of negative and unwanted consequences. There are a handful of people who do not know that precautions must be taken, otherwise, unwanted things might happen.

Now with computers enhanced with internet programmes all around us, it is not surprising for people to buy computer(s) for various reasons. It is already quite impossible to prevent people from buying the computer. Some people buy the computer simply to enter the world of cyber chat to spice up their life. Soon, cyber chat might be an indispensable part of our life because of the advatages we can find by using it. It entertains us when we are stressful. It can bring blessings to your business if you use it correctly.

The cyber chat facilities in Yahoo!, ICQ and IRC enables us to chat with people from all around the world. Sometimes people from countries which you never thought that it exists. Through that, people can communicate and can learn (simply for general knowledge) lots of cultures from different countries. It enables a person to be broad-minded and widen up a person's perspective on things. Other than that, we can know about the climate of different countries and sometimes if you are a novelist, it benefits you lavishly. We might also be able to know the geogrphical location of different countries. Through cyber chat, we can also promote tourism to improve the economical situation in our own countries. Business too can be done efficiently through this beneficial tool of communication. In the future, it cyber chat might be a medium to enable growth in businessmen's business and who knows that it might be an essential part of a businessmen life.

However, there are disadvantages which somehow seems to be inevitable especially when people misuse the facilities of the cyber chat. Usually, things exist for good but it is the people who make it looks like something evil. Some people, especially teenagers, who enters the cyber chat, spend their time in the computer exceedingly. That does not only spoil a person's eyesight, but also it makes a person lack of time to spend with their family or to do their homework (for students). In addition to that, lack of rest too may be a very possible consequence. Some youths are really engross with cyber chat and it is as if they cannot live a day without it. Students' academic results might get worse and worse from year to year if students are extremely engross with the cyber chat. Moreover, the internet bills can go up to an unaffordable price if the internet is used for hours per day simply for cyber chat or other things which can be done on the internet, of course.

There are some people who spread rumours and create unnecesary panic among the people. This creates lots of problem to our own country and government. There are even people who cheat people's money through the internet by telling the wrong information about some products which they sell just because of their avarice of money.

Teenagers, too, can learn a lot of unwanted things which lead to immoral acts such as showing dishonour towards parents, hating people, discriminating other people's race and religion and taking drugs and alcohol. How can this happen? The answer lies on bad influences from a handful of people who enters the cyber chat. There are people who deceive young children, sometimes in a subtle manner.This is called temptations and it comes in a deceptive manner. Sometimes all these can encourage young children to indulge in something unhealthy like seeing pornographic pictures and soon, they become corrupted. Isn't this terrible? Just imagine your child being influenced by people who might be totally corrupted simply because of entering the cyber chat. It seems evil is everywhere, isn't it?

The disadvantages can be overcome by advising young children to discern what is good and what is bad for them. It is also helpful to place the computer where parents can see them when they are using the cyber chat. About the bills, try not to use the internet too long. Who knows it might even exceed the salary you receive every month.

There are a few precautions which must be taken when people chat in cyber chat. Precautions like not telling your address to anyone because some people can be harmful. Not receiving files (some chat facilities permit people to send files through the internet) espcially with the extentions: .exe . Some might have virus. Some files might enable a person to hack your computer and have access to many things in your computer. So beware. You've got to be smart when you are on the internet.

Cyber chat exist for good. The pioneer of cyber chat actually wants people to make use of it by using it in a right manner. The pioneer of it never intended people to misuse it. The pioneer of it also does not want people to make cyber chat as something so detested, so inferior and contemptable. So, do not misuse the cyber chat. There is totally no reason for you to misuse it simply because to satisfy your instinct and your desires. Your desires, when satisfied might become a curse.
