Discipline Plan

I based our classroom discipline plan on our school’s discipline policy. I started with a beehive and bees. I decided to include this on here because many parents come up and ask me, ”What does getting your bee moved mean?”

Each child has a bee with his/her name on it. All the bees are put on the beehive. Beside the beehive are colors that have the consequences for misbehaving on them. Yellow is a warning. Blue is time-out. Green is miss 5 minutes of playtime. Orange is a note home. Red is a visit to the principal.

When a child does something inappropriate, he/she has to move his/her bee out of the beehive to yellow, and then so on. If a child’s bee is still in the beehive at the end of the day, he/she gets a sticker on the behavior chart. A child who doesn’t get his/her bee moved all week becomes and “All Star” for the week and gets a special treat and name posted in the hallway.
