Families and Associates in Ranma 1/2
Soun Tendo
Akane's father and operator of the Tendo Training Hall. He travelled and trained with Genma Saotome when they were young, under the tutelage of Hipposai. Soun promised Genma that Ranma could marry one of the three Tendo girls when they were all of age. He is given to melodrama, but is a fine fighter and devoted to his family.
Kasumi Tendo
The sweetest, most innocent soul alive. Kasumi is the oldest of the Tendo girls, and she lives in her own world. Replacing her deceased mother, she takes care of the Tendos and now also the Saotomes.
Nabiki Tendo
The more predatorial of the Tendo girls, Nabiki is only interested in making money. She is exceptionally bright and turns those talents to her advantage, though she will help out family and friends when they are in a bind. She is the one who sold pictures of Ranma-chan and Akane to Kuno for an exorbitant sum.
Sound: Oh, I'm so scared...
Dr. Tofu
Not technically in the Tendo family, Dr. Tofu is their family doctor. He is particularly practiced at bandaging Akane's martial arts wounds. He has a secret love for Kasumi Tendo and becomes a terrible klutz whenever he is around her.
Genma Saotome
Ranma's father. Genma runs the Anything Goes School of Martial Arts and is the one who taught Ranma everything (almost) that he knows.
Nadoka Saotome
Genma's wife and Ranma's mother. She has no idea that her son is sometimes a daughter, and Genma would like to keep it that way.
Cologne
Cologne is Shampoo's great-grandmother and is an almost unbeatable Amazon warrior. She is the only match for the fearsome Hipposai and is convinced that Ranma will someday be her son-in-law. If they are lucky, sometimes she teaches one of them a new trick, like Ryoga's Breaking Point Technique.
Mousse
Mousse, also from China, is desperately in love with Shampoo though she ignores him and treats him dreadfully. He also fell into the Nanichiwan (who *hasn't?*) and becomes a duck. His special attack is with the chains he spews from his sleeves, a trick picked up from the circus. Also, he has horrid vision and is always mistaking one person for another.
Happousai
The evil sensai of Genma and Soun. He is a dirty old man, constantly raiding the girl's locker room to steal underwear for his nefarious purposes. He is an almost unbeatable martial artist, but has a weak point for Ranma-chan.
Sasuke
The faithful retainer of House Kuno. A trained ninja, Sasuke assists Kuno in whatever scheme the boy cooks up and serves as all-around whipping post. He is actually quite sensitive, however, and is wounded when Kuno does not reveal how much he actually needs Sasuke.
Midorigame
Kodachi's pet alligator, much to Ranma's surprise.
