THINGS THAT ARE UNSEEN
I was on the corner waving a cab down,
So the cab went past me, I thought the
cab was going to turn around; I was disgusted
the only thing I could
do was to tap my feet on the ground.
A police stopped me for nothing,
So he started to harass me to see if I
was going to do something;
He tried to get me so angry to make me want to swing.
I walk toward this white woman to ask
her for some directions,
So she hurried to her car and locked
the doors for protection;
What did I do for that reaction?
I'm walking around in the store
minding my own business,
But I look around, and I’m
being watched now I’m treated less;
Why do people like to see black
people go through this mess?
