reetings,
holy children of God, in the wonderful name of our lord and saviour Jesus, the Christ.
The sermon subject for today is: Let me say at the out set of this sermon that, "I love the Baptist people". But, I believe that Satan over a long period of time has placed his children in positions of authority in the Baptist denomination. And, the men in authority select men to be pastors and teachers that have either been indoctrinated with their propaganda, or novice, or men not acquainted with the scriptures, or men whose time is so valuable that they cannot study the scriptures, doctors, lawyers, etc. Let me give you an example of what I am saying. Reading from the Baptist creed concerning the Holy Scriptures. I quote the Baptist faith and message, adopted by southern Baptist at their convention may 9, l963. Here is what they say about the Holy Scriptures. "The Holy bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God's revelation of himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. It reveals the principles by which God judges us: and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. The criterion by which the bible is to be interpreted is Jesus Christ." Saints of God, if a man was not acquainted with the Baptist denomination, and he read those words, he would surely think that Baptist believe that the bible, the written word of God, the Holy scriptures, are the authority under Christ. But, brethren it is one thing to say something, or write something on a piece of paper, and it is something else to put it into effect. Let me give you an example of what I am talking about. The bible, the written word of God, gives the children of God, a well established program of activities to be followed when we as children of God come together in the name of Jesus Christ, when we assemble: if you are Baptist, compare what bible says to last Sunday's service. 1 Corinthians l4:26 how is it then, brethren? When ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation, let all things be done unto edifying if any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at most by three, and that by course: and let one interpret. But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church: and let him speak to himself, and to God.let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge if any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.3l.for ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted and the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets for God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto the to speak: but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law and if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church? What Came the word of God out from you? Or came it unto you only? If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the lord but if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues let all things be done decently and in order. Listen carefully, children of God, when Baptist assemble they do not allow anyone to speak in tongues, there is no interpretation. Do they encourage the women to be silence in church? No, they encourage the women to speak. One of the commandments in the scriptures I just read is "brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues." Listen saints of God, have you ever seen a football player with great effort cross the goal line, only to have the official throw a yellow flag to the ground, indicating that there has been some infraction of the rules. And the man that ran across the goal line had run in vain. We, the children of God, must abide by the laws of God if we are hoping to receive the prize of eternal life, the immoral body. Ii timothy 2:5 (the apostle Paul was inspired of God to record these words) and if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully. Brothers, and sisters in the lord Jesus Christ, we are commanded to speak in tongues, and to have an interpretation of tongues when we assemble in the name of Jesus Christ. The women are commanded to be silence in the church. It is my belief that when a born again child of God speaks in tongues, it is the inward mans the soul that speaks. The outward man does not know the heavenly language, but the inward man the soul knows the heavenly language, and speaks to God. Then God answers though an interpreter. But in order for a man to interpret the words of God he must have the spirit of the Holy God within him. In the days of Daniel, the prophet, there was a wicked king that gave a feast, and drink wine from sanctified vessels taken from the temple in Jerusalem. And when the king drank the wine from the Holy vessels there was a finger that appeared and wrote a message upon the wall. Daniel 5:8 then came in all the kings' wise men: but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation thereof. But saints of God, the queen knew of Daniel a man of God, within whom the spirit of God dwelt, and she said these words to the king. Daniel 5:ll There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the Holy Gods: and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the Gods, was found in him, whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers, for as much as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, listen saints of God, as Daniel interprets the writing, Daniel 5:24 (Daniel is speaking and he said ) then was the part of the hand sent from him: and this writing was written and this is the writing that was written, me ne, me ne, te kel, u phar sin this is the interpretation of the thing: me ne: God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it te kel: thou art weight in the balances, and art found wanting pe res: thy kingdom is divided, and given to the medes and Persians. Holy children, men in authority in the Baptist denomination teach that baptism is not a necessity to salvation. They preach, and teach that faith, plus nothing equals salvation. But if you read their creed, you may think that they believe that baptism is necessary to salvation, because they require that a person be baptized to join their denomination. Listen as I read their creed concerning baptism. I quote: Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen saviour, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is a testimony to his faith in the final resurrection of the dead. Being a church ordinance, it is prerequisite to the privileges of church membership and to the lord's supper. Beloved of God, baptism is much more than a symbol of something. We as Christians when baptized properly, in the name of the father, and in the name of the son, Jesus the Christ, and in the name of the Holy Ghost, are baptized out of the world, and into the body of Christ. And when a man of God lays his hands upon a person, performing the ritual of the laying on of hands, that a person might receive the Holy Ghost, they receive the Holy Ghost by faith. Acts l9:1 and it came to pass, that, while Apollo was at CORINTH, Paul having passed through the upper coasts of ephesus: and finding certain disciples. He said unto them, have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, we have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them: and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. And all the men were about twelve. Christian brethren, when a man, woman, or child, is baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, he comes into the promise that God, by the mouth of the apostle peter, promised to the household of faith. And, that is that we shall receive the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38 then peter said unto them, repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. In this present life Holy children, the most wonderful thing that will happen to you is to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. When a person receives the Holy Ghost, the inward man the soul comes to life. This outward man of flesh, and blood shall perish, but the inward man the soul shall live forever, for it is renewed every day. 1 Corinthians 4:l6 for which cause we faint not: but though our outward man perishes, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. Beloved of God, what is salvation? It is being in Christ, filled with the Holy Ghost, free from sin, and free from the punishment that shall come upon those in sin. Titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. You may wonder child of God how you can tell if a person has received the Holy Ghost. You can tell if a person has received the Holy Ghost by the fruit of the spirit, the work which his presence within accomplishes. Galatians 5:22 but the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Saints of God, Baptist do not baptize in the name of Jesus Christ, neither do they perform the ritual of the laying on of hands that the members of their congregation can receive the Holy Ghost. I am of the opinion that they believe that as soon as a man believes, he receives the Holy Ghost. But that is not necessarily so. During the days of the apostle peter, and the apostle John, Philip a man of God went down into Samaria and preached the kingdom of God unto them. They were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, but the Holy Ghost had fallen on none of them. Acts 8:l4 now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them peter and John: who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost. (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
