A Sermon by Reverend Hollis Ray Mathis

reetings, holy children of God, in the wonderful name of our lord and saviour Jesus, the Christ. The sermon subject for today is:

Clean, and Unclean, Sanctified, and Unsanctified

There is the physical uncleanness, and there is the spiritual uncleanness. The physical uncleanness first. 1And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying, 2Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man hath a running issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean. 3And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness. 4Every bed, whereon he lieth that hath the issue, is unclean: and every thing, whereon he sitteth, shall be unclean. 5And whosoever toucheth his bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. 6And he that sitteth on any thing whereon he sat that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. When God created the man Adam, and breathed into his nostils the breath of Life, man became a living Soul. God is a trinity in unity, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Genesis 2:7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. When God by Jesus Christ created the man Adam he created man a trinity in unity body, soul, and spirit. The body can die, and the soul live on, or the soul can die, and the body live on, when the spirit leaves the body the body dies. James 2:26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. Proverbs 6:32But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul. The things that we see are temporary; the things that are not seen are eternal. 2Corinthians 4:18While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. It is the soul of man that shall live in eternity. 2Corinthians 4:16For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. God gave Adam a commandment that he could eat of every tree of the Garden of Eden except the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Genesis 2:16And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. What is sin? Sin is the transgress of the laws of God. 1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. When Adam transgressed that commandment of God all humanity was in Adam, and because of our physical union with Adam sin was imputed to all mankind. And we all died the spiritual death, the inward man the soul died. 1Corinthians 15:22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. When sin came into the world, sin rose up high and went far, and polluted, contaminated, made unclean the people, the ground, the animals, birds, and creeping things. What color is sin? Sin comes in two shades of red, scarlet, and crimson. Scarlet is red with an orange tint; crimson is a red with a purple tint. Isaiah 1:18Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. How is the body cleansed of sin? The bible says that except a man be born of water, and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. If a man was on his death bed, and had never been baptized; and you only had a cup of water would you baptize him by sprinkling . I would because of these scriptures. (1)Ezekiel 36:24For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. 25Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Our sins are remitted when we are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. (2) Acts 2:38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Amplified translation) Acts 2:38And Peter answered them, Repent (change your views and purpose to accept the will of God in your inner selves instead of rejecting it) and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of and release from your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. When you are sick, if you will call for the elders of the Church, and allow them to pray over you, and anoint you with oil in the name of the Lord Jesus your sins will be remitted. (3) James 5:14Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. When you place your faith in the Lord Jesus for your salvation, and place your faith and trust in the blood Jesus shed on Calvary’s cross for your redemption, God the Father will allow you to declare the righteous of Jesus for the remission of sins pass. (4) Romans 3:24Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Every Spirit filled child of God Has the power remit sin. (5) John20:22And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: 23Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained. (6) A babe in Christ can confess when he sins in ignorant. 1John1:9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Where is sin located on the human body? Sin attaches itself to the feet of the human body. (6) John:13:8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. 9 Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. 10Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. When a person is in sin they are spiritually unclean. We as saints of God are commanded to come out from among them. 2Corinthians 6:15And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 18And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. If that which is clean touches that which is unclean the clean will not sanctify the unclean; the unclean will defile the clean. Haggai 2:11Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying, 12If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No. 13Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean. Christians are by the laws of God to marry only Born Again Christians. 1Corinthians:7:39 The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. If a man and a woman are not Christians and God calls one to repentance, but not the spouse. The born again Child of God is not required to divorce their spouse. Are children sanctified until the age of accountability? Absolutely not. Children are sanctified by believing parents. 1 Corinthians 7:13And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. 14For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. When is a person a candidate for baptism? When a person believes that Jesus is the Son of God he is a candidate for baptism. Acts:8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 38And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. Is it scriptural to be baptized for the dead? Yes. 1 Corinthians 15:29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? Why are they then baptized for the dead? When the Elect of God are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, he is translated out of the world, and into the Body of Christ and when he receives the Holy Ghost the inward man the soul comes to life. In the Body of Christ is the blood of Christ that gives us a continuous cleansing. Eternal Life is in the Body of Christ. 1Jn 5:11 If a person goes back into sin after he has been cleansed, and has received the Holy Ghost, he is like a dog that has returned to his vomit. 2 Peter 2:21For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. It is the receiving of the Holy Ghost that gives a person the power to live the sin free life. 1John3:8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. When we, as saints of God, are commanded of God to build a Church, a House of Prayer, we first raise Holy Hands and bless the land upon which the House of God is to be built. When the land is blessed a change comes over the land, the land becomes Holy Ground, Sanctified, cleansed of sin. And the title is transferred from man to God. Exodus 3:4And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. 5And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. When a person is on Holy Ground they must be very careful not to defile the Land. Nothing shall enter heaven that shall defile it. Revelation 21:25And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 26And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. 27And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. If a man sanctifies his house and land. Leviticus 27:14And when a man shall sanctify his house to be holy unto the LORD, then the priest shall estimate it, whether it be good or bad: as the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand. 15And if he that sanctified it will redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of thy estimation unto it, and it shall be his. When a person sits down to eat and rises holy hands and blesses his food there is a change comes over then food, the unsanctified becomes sanctified, it is for this reason we, as saints of God can eat such things as rabbit, squirrel, swine, catfish, etc. If a person just sits down and begins to eat his food without blessing his food, he takes into his body unclean food. It is for this reason I believe there is so much sickness. (1Timothy 4:1-8) If a woman is put away or leaves her husband and lives with another man; her first husband is not to remarry her. Dueteronomy 24:4Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
