THE SABBATH DAY WAS INSTITUTED AT CREATION. Gn:2:2: And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. Gn:2:3: And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. THE SABBATH DAY LAST FROM SUNSET ON FRIDAY TO SUNSET ON SATURDAY. THE SABBATH WAS OBSERVED BEFORE MOSES RECEIVE THE LAW ON SINAI. Ex:16:29: See, for that the Lord hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. Ex:16:30: So the people rested on the seventh day. THE LAWS OF GOD ARE RULES OF CONDUCT THAT ARE COMPULSORY, OR MANDATORY; IMPOSED OBLIGATIONS UPON ALL HUMANITY, AND DERIVES IT ULTIMATE FORCE FROM FEAR OF CONSEQUENCES. . I BELIEVE IT WAS MARTIN LUTHER KING THAT SAID “ LAWS CANNOT MAKE MEN LOVE YOU, BUT LAWS CAN KEEP MEN FROM HANGING YOU.’’ THE FEAR OF THE LORD’S DISSATIFACTION IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM. AND TO DEPART FROM EVIL IS UNDERSTANDING. Ps:111:10: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. Jb:28:28: And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Mt:10:28: And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. WHAT IS THE SABBATH DAY? IT IS SATURDAY, THE SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK. UNDER THE LAW OF MOSES’ THE PUNISHMENT FOR WORKING ON THE SABBATH DAY WAS DEATH BY STONING. Nm:15:32: And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. 33: And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. 34: And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him. 35: And the Lord said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. 36: And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the Lord commanded Moses. BUSINESS WAS FORBIDDEN, Jer:17:21: Thus saith the Lord; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; EX:20:10: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: UNDER THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE THAT IS IN CHRIST JESUS; SHOULD CHRISTIANS OBSERVE THE SABBATH DAY, AND PREACH THAT MEN SHOULD NOT WORK ON THE SABBATH? ABSOLUTELY NOT. THE LAW, AND THE PROPHETS, FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS WERE UNTIL JOHN THE BAPTIST CAME PREACHING IN THE WILDERNESS; SINCE THAT TIME THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS PREACHED, AND MEN ARE PRESSED INTO IT. Lk:16:16: The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. WHAT IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD? Rom:14:17: For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. WE AS CHRISTIANS ASSEMBLE ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK. Jn:20:19: Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. JESUS CHRIST, GOD’S DARLING SON, COMMANDED A MAN TO TRANSGRESS THE SABBATH DAY LAW, WITHOUT SIN. Jn:5:8: Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. Jn:5:9: And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath. Jn:5:10: The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed. Jn:5:11: He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk. Jn:5:12: Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk? UNDER THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS; A MAN MAY ESTEEM ONE DAY ABOVE ANOTHER, OR HE CAN REGARD EVERY DAY ALIKE. Rom:14:5: One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. Rom:14:6: He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. FROM THE TIME THAT JOHN CAME PREACHING IN THE WILDERNESS, UNTO THIS PRESENT DAY THERE IS A REFORMATION, A BETTER WAY TO LIVE CAME INTO BEING. FOR EXAMPLE DIETARY LAWS WERE CHANGED. UNDER THE LAW OF MOSES GOD’S CHILDREN WERE NOT TO EAT CERTAIN ANIMALS, BIRDS, FISH, AND CREEPING THINGS BECAUSE THEY WERE UNCLEAN, BECAUSE OF THE ORIGINAL SIN OF ADAM. I BELIEVE THAT WHEN CHRIST JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED THERE WAS A FOUNTAIN OPENED THAT CLEANSED THE PREVIOUS UNCLEAN ANIMALS. CHRIST JESUS COMMANDS PETER TO KILL AND EAT THESE THINGS. Acts:10:9: On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: Acts:10:10: And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, Acts:10:11: And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: Acts:10:12: Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. Acts:10:13: And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. Acts:10:14: But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. Acts:10:15: And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. IF A MAN PREACHES AGAINST EATING CERTAIN MEATS BECAUSE THEY ARE SPIRITUALLY UNCLEAN, HE IS PREACHING THE DOCTRINE OF THE DEVIL. 1Tm:4:1: Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 1Tm:4:2: Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 1Tm:4:3: Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 1Tm:4:4: For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: 1Tm:4:5: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. 1Tm:4:6: If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. WHEN WE AS CHILDREN OF GOD ARE BORN INTO THIS WORLD WE ARE UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE LAW OF MOSES. FOR THE LAW OF MOSES COVERS THE WORLD. THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY I KNOW OF TO GET OUT FROM UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE LAW OF MOSES’ AND THAT IS TO BE BAPTISED OUT OF THIS WORLD, AND INTO THE BODY OF CHRIST. WHEN WE ARE BAPTIZED OUT OF THIS WORLD WE DIE TO THIS WORLD, BUT ARE ALIVE IN CHRIST. Rom:6:1: What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Rom:6:2: God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Rom:6:3: Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Rom:6:4: Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. IF A MAN PREACHES THAT MEN SHOULD NOT WORK ON THE SABBATH, OR THAT MEN SHOULD NOT EAT CERTAIN ANIMALS BECAUSE THEY ARE UNCLEAN, OR IF A MAN PREACHES THAT MEN MUST TITHE, AND BUILDS THOSE LAWS AS THEY WERE UNDER THE LAW OF MOSES. HE WILL MAKE HIMSELF A TRANSGRESSOR. Gal:2:18: For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. Gal:2:19: For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. Gal:2:20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Gal:2:21: I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. HE WILL MAKE HIMSELF A TRANSGRESSOR. FOR THE OLD TESTAMENT LAWS HAD TO BE KEPT TO THE LETTER. AND, IF YOU TRANSGRESSED ONE LAW YOU WERE GUILTY OF ALL. Rom:7:6: But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. Jms:2:10: For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. A MAN CANNOT PREACH ONE WAY, AND LIVE ANOTHER. Rom:2:22: Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? Rom:2:23: Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God? Rom:2:24: For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written. WHY WAS THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS RECORDED? THE LAW, AND THE PROPHETS, WERE OUR SCHOOLMASTER TO BRING US TO CHRIST. Gal:3:23: But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Gal:3:24: Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Gal:3:25: But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. Gal:3:26: For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. WE, AS SAINTS OF GOD, THAT HAVE BEEN BAPTIZED INTO THE BODY OF CHRIST ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW OF MOSES’ WE ARE UNDER THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE WHICH IS IN CHRIST. THE LAW OF MOSES’ IS KNOWN AS THE LAW OF SIN, AND DEATH. Rom:8:1: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Rom:8:2: For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Rom:8:3: For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: Rom:8:4: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. THE SABBATH DAY WAS A SHADOW OF THAT TO COME. Col:2:16: Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Col:2:17: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. NEW LIVING TRANSLATION HEB:10:1 The old system in the law of Moses was only a shadow of the things to come, not the reality of the good things Christ has done for us. The sacrifices under the old system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship. WERE MAY PEOPLE SAVED UNDER THE LAW OF MOSES? ONLY A FEW, AND THE WORD FEW IS DEFINED AS THREE OR MORE. Is:24:5: The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Is:24:6: Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left. THE TITHING LAWS WERE NOT BROUGHT OVER INTO THE NEW TESTAMENT BECAUSE KINGS DO NOT TAX THEIR OWN CHILDREN. Mt:17:24: And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? Mt:17:25: He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? Mt:17:26: Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. WHY DO MEN PREACH IN SUCH A WAY AS TO DRAG MEN BACK UNDER THE LAW THAT GOD GAVE TO MOSES’? THEY DRAG MEN BACK UNDER THE LAW TO BRING THEM UNDER THE TITHING LAWS. THE TITHING LAWS WAS A TAX THAT GOD PLACED ON ISRAEL FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE LEVITICAL TRIBE. THERE IS NO PLACE IN THE OLD TESTAMENT, OR NEW THAT SAYS THAT GOD’S CHILDREN ARE TO GIVE A TITHE TO THE CHURCH. THE TITHING LAWS CAUSED ALL ISRAEL TO GO UNDER THE CURSE A SENTENCE OF CONDEMNATION. Mal:3:8: Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Mal:3:9: Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. WHY DO MEN PREACH SUCH THINGS AS GOD LOVES YOU UNCONDITIONALLY? OR THEY PREACH YOU CANNOT LOSE YOUR SALVATION REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU DO. THESE SERMONS ARE DESIGNED TO SEND THE CHILDREN OF GOD INTO THE FLAMES OF HELL. Rom:11:22: Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. Heb:10:26: For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins. MEDITATE ON THIS VERSE OF SCRIPTURE 1Thes:5:22: Abstain from all appearance of evil. MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, WITH GOOD HEATH, LONG LIFE, AND PROSPERITY.
