  • Check library for books This link is to the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium. Some of the above books are available for circulation and some are not available or don't circulate. If you're hesitant about buying a book based on a description, see if it's available in a local library and read through it for free. Then, if you think it's what you want, go to the order form link on this page and buy it. The search feature of the MVLC web page will show you which local libraries have which books, whether they circulate and whether they are currently available. For example, to find all books having to do with the Middlesex Canal : 1.) Click on the above link 2.) On the MVLC home page click on "MVLC Catalog (via the WEB)" 3.) Click on "Login to Catalog" 4.) Click on "Keyword Searching" 5.) Type in "middlesex canal" (without the quotes) The screen will list any book or document whose title contains the words "Middlesex Canal". If, then, you click on one of the selections the screen will display the local libraries in the Merrimack Valley area which have the book, the Dewey decimal (or local ) number, whether or not the book circulates, and whether or not it is currently drawn out.
