It is indeed a sad news for ahmadi muslims around the world, especially we Bangladeshi ahmadis that seven persons were dead and more than 25 people
were injured in a grenade attack on a ahmadiyya mosque in the port city of
Khulna (see related map in BBC Online Network ) when about more than 150 ahmadis were attending Friday prayers (Oct. 08).
In an inverview with BBC Radio Service, Maulana Abdul Auwal, the missionary of the ahmadiyya community in Bangladesh, accused Tahaffuz e Khatme Nabuwwat, an extremist sunni muslim organization which has close link with their pakistani counterpart, for inciting religious violence against peaceful ahmadi muslims in Bangladesh. They were threatening ahmadis for last few weeks and were behind the past violence against ahmadis in Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, two days after that bomb explosion in Khulna and within 24 hours of the removal of two bombs from another mosque at Mirpur (next to an ahmadiyya mosque), and from the Janakantha (daily) newspaper office in Dhaka, two more bombs were spotted inside the central Ahmadiyya mosque in Dhaka City on Oct 10.
At the central Ahmadiyya mosque at Bakshibazar two black bags containing the bombs were found beside two pillars of the mosque at the first floor of the three-storied building just after the devotees' had completed the Fazr' prayers and recitation from the Holy Quran' at around 6 am, said Prof Tariq Saiful Islam, Nayeb National Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, while talking to the newsmen.
According to latest reports, fundamentalists are trying to create more disturbances against ahmadiyya muslims in other parts of the country as well.
We urge all ahmadis around the world to pray for us so that the supreme sacrifice of
these shaheeds (martyrs) is accepted with Almighty Allah and that He enable us to
carry out the preaching of true islam and to sacrifice ourselves in the
cause of islam in Bangladesh. Prayer is also requested for the injured brothers and the berieved familly members. Ameen.
Hazrat Ameerul Mumeneen Khalifatul Masih IV led the funeral prayers in absentia of the seven martyars in the London Mosque on November 5 and mentioned the brief life-sketch of these martyars. His Holiness also advised the Bangladesh Jamaat to continue their preaching and offer sacrifices for the cause of Allah. Huzur expressed the hope that with the help of Allah, Bangladesh Jamaat will advance more rapidly than that of the past.
According to the latest reports available to us anti-ahmadiyya extremists attacked another ahmadiyya mosque in Natore (Masjid-e-Hashem) and occupied the mosque on November 13. The attackers also threw away 50 religious books and holy quran. They beat up ahmadi muslims living in the area and also stormed the residence of Rezaul Karim, president of the Ahmediyya Muslim Jamaat in Natore and injured the inmates of the house. The people belonging to the Ahmediyya community started fleeing the village.
Please write letter to the PM and home minister of Bangladesh condemning the incidence and calling for immediate action. Also send protest letters to the embassy of Bangladesh in your country to bring the criminals to justice.
