WORK EXPERIENCE
Legislative Data Center -- SYSTEMS SOFTWARE SPECIALIST I
Sacramento, Nov. 16, 1998 to Present
- Unix System Administrator in the Sun Solaris environment.
- DNS and Firewall administrator. Install and maintain rules on the Check Point Firewall-1 on Sun Solaris 2.6 E-450 system.
- Analyze, implement, maintain and evaluate system's software; this includes operating systems, operating shells, applications, and various work station software packages.
- Provide analysis, and specifications for the new Sun system per customer's request. This also includes the installation for the new system, prepare maintenance contract, and monitor performance of the system. Apply latest revisions, recommended, security and other patches relevant to the system's software environment.
- Install and configure the Sun NIS/NFS server and clients.
- Write Shell scripts to monitor system's performance, gather system's information, back up system in local tape drive, or through the network.
- Monitor, backup, and work with Oracle DBBA on managing Oracle databases on Sun E-450, E-3000, and E-5000.
- Work with the following Sun platforms: E-5000, E-3000, E-450, E-420R, E-250, E-220R, Ultra-10, Ultra-5, Sparc-20, and Sparc-5.
- Install and configure the System Console Switch boxes to provide console accessibility and monitor console messages for 24 sun systems.
- Provide daily system administrative support such as set up accounts, restore data, and perform tasks as directed.

- Design, program, and implement the Peace Officer database using PowerBuilder as a front-end tool, and SQR (Structure Query Report), and MS SQL Server V6.5. Perform data migration from DEC open VMS to MS SQL, and maintain physical and logical data models in SQL server. Also, maintain user accounts in Windows NT Server V4.0 and MS SQL Server V6.5.

Department of Defense: McClellan Air Force Base - SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Sacramento, Sep. 8, 1987 to Mar. 2, 1998:
- Managed a team of seven engineers, and was responsible for Performance, Cost and Schedule of project (CMM Level III).
- Performed IV&V for the A-10 Operational Flight Program (OFP). Responsible for verification of software such as requirements meet specifications and interfaces, the design is traceable and testable, and documentation and code comply with standards and plans. Validate of software programs such as programs meet qualification tests and formal audits using the A-10 Avionics Integration System Facility.
- Tested and helped troubleshooting the A--10 software and the system simulation station.
- Handled users’ requests, and helped application programmers with technical problems.
- Developed diagnostic, and automated test programs on the DEC open VMS and GenRad testing machines.
- Developed documentation including testing programs, technical orders, schematics, and other engineering support data using Interleaf application.
