During this time, his family remained faithful and persistent in prayer. His church also prayed for him. Today, he is home recovering, much to the surprise of medical specialists. With God's help and power, he is winning his battle.
Life is full of many tough battles. Overcoming drug and alcohol addiction is a battle. Fighting an illness is a battle. Repairing a torn family is a battle. Rebuilding a ruined life is a battle. Sometimes the forces against us can seem overwhelming. Psalm 76:4-5 says, "You [God] are more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey. The stouthearted were plundered; they have sunk into their sleep; and none of the mighty men have found the use of their hands." The Psalmist knew that the ultimate power was with God, and not the "stouthearted" opposition. In a similar vein Jesus said, "...if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you." (Matthew 17:20)
Remember that the task ahead of you is never as great as the power that is behind you.
God Bless you.
