Genesis-Once when Sri Manavala Mamunigal came to srivilliputtur the last day of the neerati utsavam was over and sri Manavala Mamunigal was very sad at missing it The Lord ordained that the Oil bath be performed the next day also.Thus we have a yennakappu utsavam in the first day of the Thai masam.
Utsavam-The Yenna kappu utsavam is held at the neeratti mandapam.After finishing neerattam Sri Andal comes in a pallaku(palanquin) to the periyaperumal kovil and the "Naalpattu" is held.Then there is a purappadu in front of the Manavala Mamunigal Sannidhi.Sri Manavala Mamunigal comes out and recites the mangalasasanam for Sri Andal

After the mangalasasanam Sri Manavala Mamunigal is offered Andal Malai,Thiruparivattam and Sri Sadagopan.Sri Andal then returns to her permanent place.
