The fifth day is one of the important days of the thirunal.In the morning the periyazhwar Mangalasasanam is held.Sri Rangamannar,Periaperumal, Srinivasa perumal,Sundararajaperumal and Tiruthangal appan come one by one to the mandapam.Periyazhwar is offered Thiruparivattam,maalai, abhaya hastham and Sri Satagopan by all the perumals and Sri Priyazhwar does Mangalasasanam for all of them.Then with the waving of chamaram and accompaniment of Vadyam Sri periyazhwar does pradakshinam of all the emperumans.In the evening the Aindu garuda sevai is held with Sri Andal in periya hamsa vahanam the emperuman's Rangamannar,Periyaperumal,Srinivasaperumal,Sundararajaperumal and Tiruthangal appan in Garuda Vahanams and Sri Periyazhwar in hamsa vahanam.Sri Periyazhwar leads the procession and is mounted and taken in procession in such a way that he continuously offers his respects as Perumals go by. After going through the mada veedhis and the kandadai street the procession enters the gopuram street and from there to the keel ratha veedhi and the other ratha veedhis.Next day morning Periyazhwar bids farewell to emperuman's and the function is similar to that during the previous day morning as described earlier
