The thiruther utsavam was held on saturday 29 th july and the thEr came back to the nilay within 4 hours at around 11:45 am during the car festival on thiru aadi pooram

Thai Masam 2002

Thirupooram

Thirupooram was held on 31 jan 2002 for the month of thai.At around 5 pm Sri Andal came in the pallaku to the thirupoora nandavanam.The karutti was decorated very nicely with flowers. After thiruvaradhanam the sattumurai was held first thirupallandu was chanted followed by thiruppavai and then nachiar thirumozhi.Prasadam was then distributed to all bhagavathas

The annual Thiruppavai mahanadu was held at thirupoora nandavanam from 28jan 2002 to 30 jan 2002

Adi Masam 2001

The annual thiruther was held in a grand manner with a large number of devotees on the 9th thirunal of adi brahmotsavam.The ther reached the nilay on the same day

Ani Masam 2000

With the gopuram repair works having been completed for the samprokshanam ,After many years the Periyazhwar Brahmotsavam was celebrated in a grand manner.

An Important Announcement

The Andal temple Mahasamprokshanam has been scheduled for the year 2000.It will take place on 10 feb 2000.check the Thiruppani page for more details.The last samprokshanam took place in 1970.

Margazhi Masam 1999

The arayar sevai was held on 18 dec 1999.The Arayar performed the "Amrutha manthanam" .

AUGUST 1999 UPDATE

Extensive Repair work is on for the Samprokshanam to be held in feb next year(2000).Devotees to the Vatapatrasayi temple can have darsanam of the perumal at the Lakshmi Varahar Sannidhi below.

Adi Thirunal

The adi pooram festival was held in a grand manner as usual. It started on 3rd August with the Angoora Arpanam.Dwajarohanam took place at around 10 am on 5th aug..Poompallaku was on 12-8 -99 and Sri Andal and Mannar mounted the ther between 4 and 6 am next day(13-8-99) for the thiruthar utsavam.Thadiyaradhanam for all devotees visiting Srivilliputtur was arranged for the Adi Puram festival.Special discourses were also arranged this year during the last 4 days of the festival.

MARCH 1999 UPDATE

Preparations are on for the grand celebrations of the Andal thirukkalyana brahmotsavam to be celebrated this month.Also lot of repair works are being carried out in the outer prakaram of the Andal temple.

PORATTASI MONTH UPDATE -1998

Navaratri Utsavam

The Navaratri Utsavam for Sri Andal was held in a grand manner this year at the Thirukkalyana mandapam ,sri andal thirukovil Srivilliputtur.In the Tirukkalyana mandapam the daily utsavam celebrations took place in the evening around 6:30 pm.Among other rituals on the penultimate day , karpoora aarathi was shown to the kudurai vahanam as Rangamannar had to go for hunting the next day.

Thiruvannamalai Sanivara Utsavam

The Sanivara utsavam held in the month of porattasi attracts large crowds and this year was no exception.The important dates this year were sep 19,sep 26,oct 3,oct 10 and oct 17 when the Garuda sevai was held.
On oct 3 (one of the saturdays) busload of pilgrims from nearby villages and towns kept pouring in and it is estimated that more than a lakh people would have visited the temple that day.one of the temple priests remarked that the devotees had arrived as early as 3:00 AM for the darsanam of the lord

Thiruvabharna Samarpanam for Sri Andal

On October 12,1998 the Godha priya Kaimkarya Sabha(GPKS) of chennai presented ThiruvAbharaNams for Soodikkoduttha Nacchiyar of Srivilliputtur.Sri Godha piratti adorned these ThiruvAbharaNams presented by the GPKS of chennai and gave adhbhutha Sevai to all the assembled Bhakthas as the queen of the Universe(RaaNi Sevai).

Special paavadai and blouse inlaid with multicolored stones,a crown embroiderd with pearls and semi-precious stones,ear pieces ,Jatakothsu,neclace,parrot,Thindu and fan were presented to our Naacchiyar on this occassion.With the accompaniment of Nadhasvaram ,Melam and Koil Mariyadhai, the ThiruvAbharanams were first taken in procession around the raja Veedhis and inner prakArams and then were presented formally by Dr .V.Sadagopan ,the president of GPKS to the Executive officer of ANDAL THirukkoil.

The ThiruvAbharaNams were designed by Srimathi Padma Veeraraghavan,the seceratary of the GPKS of chennai .Srimathi Vanjula Narasimhan,Srimathi Raja Lakshmi Raghavan, Srimathi Lakshmi Gopala Swami,Srimathi Dharini Mukundan were the other office bearers who participated in this unique presentation function.

Kainkarya Sri Seva Swamy ,presided over the religious portion of the presentation function and received agra tampulam at the Sathas.Next Thirumanjanam was performed for Sri GodhA Piratti and Her divine consort .Special Mathurai Mullai flower garlands custom crafted for the occasion and the new AbharaNams adorned the queen of Rangamannar next.Our mother looked radiant in her new Abharanams and blessed Her children.

The GPKS of chennai under the leadership of Srimathi Padma Veeraraghavan had presented in the previous years Krishnan Kondai for ANDAL and Raaja Paandyan Kondai for Sri Rangamannar.The velvet for the kondai's was donated by Vasantha-Varadachar Dampathis of Hyderabad.
