Andal Sannidhi-Andal Thiruavatarasthalam

The Thirupoora Nandavanam

The birthplace of Sri Andal is situated on the left just inside the main entrance of the vatapatrasayi temple and is better known as Thiruthuzaay mandapam or Thirupoora Nandavanam. There is a Shrine for Sri Andal here.A hall leads to the andal sannidhi which houses a small Archathirumeni of Sri Andal. looking towards the sides one can see Periyazhwar's Nandavanam Sri Andal is said to have appeared near a basil shrub in this garden.On the right side there is a well.Sri andal comes to this mandapam every month when the pooram star is in ascendance.The famous Andal Thiruppavai conference takes place every year in this mandapam.Also after the thiruvaadipoora thiruther Sri Andal and Mannar come here for thirumanjanam

Periyazhwar Sannidhi

After comming out of the Andal sannidhi and proceeding towards the periya gopuram on the right we reach the Periyazhwar Sannidhi.One can also reach this place comming from the periya gopura vasal on the gopuram street Just after comming through the gopura vasal periyazhwar sannidhi is on the right.This is a big sannidhi with a mahamandapam,ardhamandapam,garbhagraham and a prakaram. The archathirumeni of Periyazhwar in Ninrathirukolam is very vivid and stays in our eyes for a long time.This being the avatara sthalam of Periyazhwar,the sannidhi has lot of significance and importance.
