Thiruthangal Divya Desam is situated 25 kms northeast of Srivilliputtur near the town of sivakasi.Mahalakshmi did penance in this Kshetram hence it is called SRI kshetram.During krishnavataram the marriage of Anirudh (grandson of sri krishna) and Usha took place in this kshetram

Sri Tiruthangal appan comes to Srivilliputtur on the fifth day of adi thirunal for Periyazhwar Mangalasasanam and Garuda sevai gets the thiruparivattam from the ANDAL temple and goes back to Tiruthangal
