New Series Begins!"STARRS OF THE WEST"
The "STARRS OF THE WEST"! miniseries kicked off in July, 2003, with "SHOOTING STARR," which united two of my previous series families: The Browns of "Into The Heartland," and the Starrs of the "Sisters Waskowitz" and the unflagged "Knight" books. You met Caitlyn Brown in "THE BLACK SHEEP'S BABY," when she attempted to spirit Eric and his baby out of the country. Now she's back, still working for an underground organization that rescues and hides people from their abusers. Stranded by car trouble while helping a mother and her little girl escape a wealthy and powerful--not to mention dangerous--man, a desperate Caitlyn turns to trucker C.J. Starr for help. What Caitlyn doesn't realize is that C.J. is working for his brother Jimmy Joe's trucking company in order to put himself through law school, and after a long and difficult time, is just about to graduate. He's not about to commit a felony and ruin his entire future, not even for a beautiful woman! So, what's a woman to do? Caitlyn doesn't hesitate, not with two innocent lives at stake. She hijacks C.J.'s truck.
What follows is tragedy and disaster that leaves a woman dead, a child missing, and Caitlyn...well, read the book and find out how a good man struggles to redeem himself, and a woman learns to trust in his love.

Next in the series, in December 2003, was "THE TOP GUN'S RETURN," which truly could have been "ripped from the headlines." It tells the story of a navy pilot shot down over Iraq and captured while flying missions over the "no-fly" zone. Presumed dead by his country and his loved ones, Tristan Bauer spends eight years in an Iraqi prison before being discovered and rescued during a military operation in that country. Memories of his family have kept him alive, but now he returns to find everyone changed: His daughter, a ten-year-old daddy's girl when he last saw her, is now a young adult. His young, eager-to-please, submissive wife, is now an independent, self-reliant woman with a fulfilling career. And for his wife, Jessie, (sister of C.J. and Jimmy Joe,) not only is there the shock of finding that the husband she'd long since given up for dead is, in fact, alive, but eight years in an Iraqi prison have made him a stranger to her. The question now is, how can love survive when everything else has changed?
