The Blinding Light

By Patrick Garrity

How she opened his eyes
Was like the sun greeting the new day
He'd never seen such things before
She would show him the way

And if he tumbles down
She will see him through the night
But before he hits the ground
He can see in her a blinding light

She can speak to him without saying a word
What she says only he knows
Her thoughts to him mean everything
He always wants more as time goes

But what's he looking to find?
Only she knows the answer
Is it even in his mind?
Or is it something he can't capture?

And now that she's opened his eyes
He sees things in quite a different way
