Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation (CMSF). Created by the federal government, the Foundation provides a range of bursaries, awards and scholarships to improve access to Canadian post-secondary education. Since 1998, the Foundation has distributed more than $1.6 billion in funding to more than half a million students across Canada. In its 2008 budget, the Government of Canada declared its intention not to renew the CMSF after its initial mandate is complete.
