SEPEMBER 2002

911 Remembrance

A Rally at the Flagpole began a day of Remembrance for the tragedies of September 11, 2001.  The school turned came wearing red, white, and blue.  Flag Club students raised the flags, Fire Chief Coleman (a parent) led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

JOHNNY APPLESEED HAD A BIRTHDAY
On September visiting artist, ,,,,,,,,,. acted and recreated the life of Johnny Appleseed for all grade levels throughout the Day.
Marty Kearney's Second Grade Class completed a day of celebration as they met math, language, science and Social Studies Standards.

at the school speaking 
to the student body.

Principal Jayne Ellicott welcomes Chris
and Yin at a Patriotic Assembly for the Brooklyn, 
New York Natives.  Each grade level presented the couple with gifts. 

Third Grade Students Signers
Under the leadership of a parent, Mrs. Amick
leads third grade students in signing the 
National Anthem at the Patriotic Assembly.  Another parent helped students make their
American Flag shirts.
Author/Illustrator Luncheon 
Charleston County School Board Members
are special guests: L-R, Greg Meyers, Chris Soenpiet, Yin, Elizabeth Alston, and Oliver Addison
A luncheon for teachers, parents, and special guests was held for the Soenpiets in the school media center.  The lunch was prepared and served by Ashley River Parents.
