All about me!

Ok, here goes. My name is Shannon Murray, I'm an almost 17 year old (guy) Junior at Midland High School in, you guessed it, Midland, TX. I'm a member of First Baptist Church of Midland. I've been a Christian for 3 years now after getting saved at FBC's church camp at Glorietta, New Mexico. I used to be really into secular music but lately I realized that it's wrong and that God wants me to listen to Christian music only--no big deal, I dont mind :). I have a sister, 2cats, and 2 dogs. My car is a grey two door 1989 Chevy Cavalier. I'm almost 100% sure that God wants me in the ministry. Not sure exactly which area yet though. If there is anyone who, like myself, gets easily depressed, let me point you to 2 Corinthians 1. My youth minister pointed this out to me last week and it has helped tremendously. Here are some good passages:

1:3-4
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, (4) who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God."

1: 8-10
"...We were under great pressure, far beyond our ablility to endure, so that we despaired even of life. (9) Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. (10) He has delivered us from such a deadly peril and he will deliver us. On Him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us."

Jeremiah 29: 11-13
" 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (12) then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. (13) You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

Remember: no matter how alone and depresed you may feel, Jesus is allways right there beside you!!!!
