What can I say about movies? I am very much a movie escapist and I tend to laugh at the people that preach that movies are there to change our lives.
To me, movies are entertainment, pure and simple. That's why I like movies like Caddyshack and Animal House.
That doesn't mean I don't enjoy serious movies and movies of substance. The Crow is one of my favorite movies. While it may not be an "important" film, I think that it was very well done in every aspect. I like Hitchcock and Citizen Kane too, so I'm not totally devoid of appreciation for the finer classics.
I don't do too well with "art house" movies and movies that supposed to be "high art". I think that they are self important and often quite boring. I've been accused by film snobs of not "getting" these movies and that's why I don't like them. A perfect example of this is Stanley Kubrick's 2001. I get the movie just fine thank you. It's just that the pacing kills me and the acting is atrociously bland (yeah, I know, it's part of the point). I've seen the people at the Kubrick newsgroup discuss the movie for over a year and they haven't said anything to convince me I'm wrong about the movie, so I'll stick to my guns.
Even though most of the people that over analyze movies crack me up this guy forwards one of the more interesting theories about the significance of Pulp Fiction. The big thing that blows his credibility is that he uses the incorrect quote from Ezekiel (Jules mangles it pretty thoroughly) as a large basis for his argument.

Ah well, enough of my rambling. I don't have many movie links but they'll get you started.
