Hole #1..deceiving par 5..short yardage, but dogleg left is only 140 yds from the whites. Low shrubs mask view of fairway..bite off as much as you feel comfortable with the first time around. Long iron or fairway wood for 2d shot leaves a nice little pitch to a fair sized green guarded in front by a large bunker. Too long and your over a steep grassy(3") back slope. When played as #10,you should have a good feel for the hole.
Hole #2..a short cart trip across the main entrance road to an elevated tee..the first of many great views. You can really let it out off this tee. Large tree in left center of fairway makes a great aiming point. The shorter the iron for the 2d shot the better..large tabletop green is difficult to hold..big, steep bunker on right side of green no problem for straight hitters. Bombers tempted to drive this green.
Hole #3..long & straight away par 5..keep left of center on all approaches toward the green..fairway slopes only slightly to the right, but anything right will catch open rough which will lessen your chances for reaching this one in regulation..
Hole #4..green on this par 3 is large with a grassy banking in the rear to catch long shots. Club selection important as tee is about 20/30 yards higher than landing area.(1 club less from the whites)
Hole #5..toughest hole on the course..straightaway, slightly downhill to a green surrounded by the only water on the course. Bankings are closely mowed on this one making the green hard to hold on mid-iron 2d shot. Bunker in front of green or layup near the road on left is a good bailout..
Hole #6..dogleg right to elevated green..decent T-shot leaves short iron in..left of center off the tee gives you a good look at what lies ahead..right of center leaves a blind shot over a small embankment that juts out into the dogleg.
Hole #7..100± yard par 3...all carry, over small ravine to a wide, shallow green..back of green is protected by gentle but 2"-3" grassy slope which will hold long shots.
Hole #8..wide open, uphill, slight bend to the right..blind tee shot anywhere near crest of the hill leaves a wide open 2nd shot to a fair-sized green with a bunker to the right..
Hole #9..similar to #4 but a little more desert to carry....usually plays less than 140 from the whites,110 from the reds...nice view down to the tennis courts, stables, practice area, pro shop,1st tee and surrounding countryside.. Now it's time to hit this nine for the second go-round and really enjoy it ! ! . . . . . . . . . . Playing time will not exceed 1½ hours even on the busiest of days. Except for the #5(water hole)all fringes and fronts are 2"-3"..no bump and run.. Greens are very, very fast but roll true to the read. Patio homes flanking the fairways are well setback and should not come into play. Refreshment cart wil catch you at least twice during your nine holes. Pro shop personnel are very pleasant, seemingly enjoying their duties. NOTE: This course was originally written up in 1995...recently re-evaluated on 20 December 2001..........First hole cleared so you can now see the landing area for tee shots .........all bankings are now closer shaven and short approaches to the very elevated greens will now roll & roll and roll back at you. Also noted is the fact that the greens are fast enough to permit putting completing off of the green. LEAVE YOUR BEEPER BEHIND....BRING YOUR CAMERA....ENJOY !
