<bgsound src="blues1.mid" loop=infinite> EL RIO Front nine

. . . . . EL RIO FRONT NINE . . . . .

#1.....Almost straightaway, slightly downhill par4,very slight dogleg left. You can see the green from all tee boxes. Wide landing area. Anywhere in the fairway leaves a relative easy iron to a fairsized green with a wide-shallow bunker on the right.

#2.....Most difficult hole on the course. Not reachable in 2 for any but the longest of hitters. Difficulty is enhanced by a very large tree in the center of the fairway,100 yds short of the large green. Again, a wide shallow bunker guards the right side.

#3.....Short straightaway par 4. Avoid trees and fenceline on the right. Short iron second shot to small, back to front sloping green. Guardian bunker on this one is a little steeper & on the left.

#4.....Par 3 with a large back to front sloping green, guarded in the front by a very steep bunker. A high shot to clear the bunker will hold the green, or it is possible to run it up on,if you stay right of the bunker.

#5.....Sharp dogleg left to medium-sized green, guarded by shallow bunkers left and right. Second shot from the fairway can be run up,if desired,...wide entrance to the green.

#6.....Straightaway par 4 back to clubhouse. Tee boxes slightly elevated with very small pond in front. Ladies tee is offset (no water). Nice big green for second shot. Trouble on left is treeline & rough from 1st hole. Also small trees within 30-60 yards of green in left rough.

#7.....Just a slight dogleg left on this one. Two career hits to reach this one in regulation, except for boomers. Another nice large green, open in front,...bunker and pesty large tree on the right.

#8.....Devilish par 3. Long and not much room for error. Entrance to green blocked by bunker on left and right. Very narrow bump up path. Small green is hard to hold from such a distance.

#9.....Slight dogleg right par 5. Very wide landing area for both tee ball & second shot. Fair-sized green with shallow bunker on right.

GENERAL

All fairways give extended roll.

Bump & run is preferred by locals...some greens hard to hold.

Rough is very forgiving....poor lie is the exception.

Greens are a putters delight....medium fast,little undulation.
