Poetry

I have been given some nice poems that on my bad days I sit and read.   They give me some comfort, I hope they give you some kind of comfort too.

I miss you

by Joan Benedetti

I miss you when the western
  horizon opens up
  and swallows the sun

Illuminating the deep blue
sky with a fiery rainbow
of colors just as if it was
painted by Van Gogh

I miss you when the rains
cool the earth
and roses and jasmins
renew with their fragrance
the remains of the day
I miss you primor
I miss you !

If I was your child and if I died,

I'd look down from heaven and see how you've cried.

I'd see all your sorrow and feel all your pain.

I'd wish I could make you feel happy again.

I'd gently remind you that I'm God's child too.

And he had his reasons to take me from you.

If I was your child and we were apart,

I'd want you to fill up the hole in your heart

With memories of good times and happier yearts,

And I'd send all my love to dry up your tears.

Footprints

One night a young girl had a dream.

She dreamed she was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flasshed scenes from her life. For each scene she noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to her, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of her life flasshed before her, she looked back at the footprints in the sand. she noticed that many times along the path of her life there was only one set of footprints. she also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in her life.

This really bothered her and she questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that at the worst times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. How could you leave me when I needed you the most?"

the Lord replied " My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of suffering and when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Someone Who Cares
Author Unknown

When you've known the meaning of sorrow,
And you've stalled at the foot of the stairs
You'd give all you owe just to borrow
A SMILE from someone who cares.

When your so-called friends won't come near you,
When they deal you out of their shares,
When you cry and there's no one to hear you,
Now you ask for someone who cares.

When you've tried to come back and you're hurting
The past slaps your face unawares,
You'd settle for that final curtain,
If it weren't for someone who cares.

Don't despair and grow disenchanted,
An answer will come to your prayers,
But please don't take God for granted,
He is there, and He's someone.....Who Cares

A Mother's Dream

A mother and father had an adorable little girl. She was the light of their lives. Then one night she was taken from them by a terrible illness. The mother never recovered. She became so depressed she could not eat or sleep. For seven years she mourned the loss of her child. Then she began to have a dream. In the dream she saw children playing. They were laughing, skipping, so happy. Except for one little girl. She struggled towards the happy children, but could not catch up to them because she was carrying two buckets of water. They were so heavy that she struggled even to walk. The mother had this dream many times.

Finally, one night, she was able to talk to the child. She asked why she was carrying the buckets of water that kept her from playing with the other children. The little girl looked up at her with big eyes and said, "Mommy, these are your tears. You are so sad." The mother realized then that she had to let the child go. A month later, she had the same dream, only this time all the children were laughing and playing.

I thought of you and closed my eyes
And prayed to God today.
I asked what makes a Mother
And I know I heard him say.

A Mother has a baby
This we know is true.
But God can you be a Mother
When your baby's not with you?

Yes, you can He replied
With confidence in His voice
I give many women babies
When they leave is not their choice.

Some I send for a lifetime
And others for a day.
And some I send to feel your womb
But there's no need to stay

I just don't understand this, God
I want my baby here
He took a breath and cleared His throat
And then I saw a tear.

I wish I could show you
What your child is doing today.
If you could see your child smile
With other children and say

"We go to earth to learn our lessons
Of love and life and fear.
My Mommy loved me oh so much
I got to come straight here.

I feel so lucky to have a Mom
Who had so much love for me
I learned my lesson very quickly
My mommy set me free.

I miss my Mommy oh so much
But I visit her each day.
When she goes to sleep
On her pillow's where I lay.

I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek
And whisper in her ear.
Mommy don't be sad today
I'm your baby and I'm here."

So you see my dear sweet one
Your children are ok
Your babies are here in My home
And this is where they'll stay.

They'll wait for you with Me
Until your lesson is through.
And on the day that you come home
They'll be at the gates for you.

So now you see what makes a Mother
It's the feeling in your heart.
It's the love you had so much of
Right from the very start.

Through some on earth may not realize you are a Mother,
Until their time is done.
They'll be up here with Me one day
And you know you're the best one!

You Are Special

Long, long ago God made a decision -
a very important decision...
one that I'm really glad He made.
He made the decision to make you.
The same hands that made the stars made you
The same hands that made the canyons made you.
The same hands that made the trees and
the moon and the sun made you.
That's why you are so special. God made you.
He made you in a very special way.
He made your eyes so they would twinkle.
He made your mouth so you could smile.
He made your laugh so you could giggle.
God made you like no one else.
If you looked all over the world - in every city in every
house - there would be no one else like you...
no one with your eyes,
no one with your mouth,
no one with your laugh.
You are very, very special.

Little Angels

When God calls little children
To dwell with Him above,
We mortals sometimes question
the wisdom of His love.
For no heartache compares with
the death of one small child
Who does so much to make our world
seem wonderful and mild
Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to His fold,
so he picks a rosebud before it can grow old
.
God knows how much we need them,
and so He takes but few
To make the land of Heaven
more beautiful to view
Believing this is difficult
still somehow we must try,
The saddest word mankind knows
will always be "Goodbye."
So when a little child departs,
we who are left behind
Must realize God loves children,
Angels are hard to find.
