Prince Edward Island's best-kept golf secret. Mill River is
continually rated as one of the Island's top courses. A firm
but friendly test, the course has played host to the Canadian
women's and junior men's amateur championships. Since
opening in 1971, the Robbie Robinson-designed layout has
been continually upgraded to sharpen its presentation. A
new irrigation system has made for consistent fairways and
long, lush rough on the 6,800-yard layout that can be penal
to the errant tee shot. Beautiful hard-wood trees line most
fairways meaning the prudent player may leave the driver in
the bag more often than not, sacrificing distance for
direction. Dramatic elevation changes, ominous water hazards and strategic bunkering add to the challenge
at Mill River. It will take a lot of course management to bring in a good score at this course. Mill River is
located in a provincial park and is accompanied by a full-service Rodd Resort which features swimming,
squash, racquet-ball, a fitness center, boating and tennis making it a full featured getaway destination.
