In a world filled with violence And over-population Where overflowing landfills Leave nothing to the imagination
We forget the silent cries Of a world stripped bare By handfuls of cash Going to people who don’t care
The ones who paint the pretty picture That it’s not as bad as it seems To take away any doubt That might take away more green
The message of conserving is smoldered As the pigs get paid By the loggers and the lawyers Who deny the mess they’ve made
When will our quest for convenience Be directly linked To global warming, acid rain, and species going extinct
Humanity for the planet Which cannot escape As its inhabitants splendor In Mother Nature’s rape
Keep the message alive We have to spread the word Sacrifice our greed to save the one Whose screams can’t be heard
Today could be the day to change A new dawn could give birth To a nation which protects instead of neglects The home that we call Earth |
