Take a good hard look at yourself in the mirror. What do you see? Many of us are impressed, disappointed, or oblivious to what is staring back at us. Regardless of what you are thinking, it is unimportant to me. I don't care about who you think you are anymore than you care about the kid you ignore at lunch. Hell, I may BE that kid at lunch you ignore. It doesn't matter. Tonight, I am going to talk about who you really are, and why that is important to me. When I look at you, I see a machine. I see something I will never be able to trust. It is not because of your actions that I feel this way, it is because I do not know the purpose of your actions. I do not know why you do the things that you do. Anyway, because of my lack of trust in you, I look at you with only critical eyes. Using these eyes, I evaluate you as persuasion devices. You were put on this earth inside a capsule of flesh and labeled "human", then sent to roam the earth believing what you choose to believe and persuading others to believe through various methods. I am not singling just you out of all the people on this planet, for we are all made in this manner, and there is nothing wrong with it that you know of. It's just as well that you are unaware of your actions. Knowing the damage you could cause to other machines like yourself might prove either too devastating to accept or too complicated to understand. However, I think that it is time you realized just what you are capable of. No more hiding the truth, you've always understood, now its time you figured out that others do to. Have you ever just stood in the hallway of your school for 5 minutes? Just gazing blankly at the wall with no apparent purpose? Notice how people are attracted to you. They say things like "What are you doing?" or "You better hurry or you're going to be late." These things are said not through curiosity or concern but in sheer envy. They know that they could not perform these acts on their own, only mimic things that they've seen previously. This leads me to believe two things: 1. You are machines and 2. I am not a machine. I do things that people find weird and disturbing, when in reality, they are not so abnormal. What does it matter if you pour milk on your hand during lunch? The reactions are quite humorous, ranging from approval to disgust. But why is it so troublesome for some people to understand? It is only milk. It can be cleaned up in a matter of minutes, and its like nothing ever happened. Walk down the hall sometime and purposely fall down. What is the harm in it? Well, I guess there is always the possibility of physical injury, but can you really think of anything to stop you? OF COURSE NOT! And yet you still don't do it. Why don't you do these things? Most of you would say, "because I'm not stupid". Well maybe you aren't but it never hurts to pretend every now and then. You say "there is no point in it" or "I will look like an idiot", but I don't think so. I think you are just doing what you have been programmed to do by your parents, whose parents programmed them, whose parents programmed them, etc. In fact, I believe that the majority of people have no control whatsoever of their lives. They make only the same decisions that the generations they were spawned from made. How else could you explain the deadness in everyone's eyes, the hollowness of their laughs? We are in a hypnotic spell that prohibits us from making decisions for only ourselves. You know what my goal is in life? To live in a cardboard box and still be able to say I am genuinely happy. To be able to hold a conversation with whomever I desired. To be able to smile at everyone the same way. And so I say to you people out there to afraid speak on their own "SO WHAT? Who cares what other people think about you? When did you become so self-conscious that you couldn't even act silly without being afraid of looking stupid?" I have reached a conclusion that no one can be the person I long to be because of the world which houses me. This disheartens me and my sadness has led to the conclusion that the world is a shallow place to live in. Do you realize that your inability to fight the strict guidelines that the world enforces on you prohibits you from doing things that might save lives? It is so disturbing for me to think that kids are committing suicide as we speak because you are so busy with your own pathetic reputation that you cant stop for one god damned minute and think about what you are doing to affect the lives around you. You have the ability to make a person laugh. You have the ability to make a person cry. And yes, I do believe that you have the ability to ruin someone else's life to the point where they would rather die than live in the tormented world you created for them. You are machines. You have the ability to transform the rules or abide by them. You are persuaders. You can make people do your will through carefully planned actions. You are our future and nothing can ever change until you stop denying |
