Something's wrong with America and something has got to be done
There's all this violence in the schools, a 15 year old with a gun
shooting at the people in this world who always caused him strife
They took away his pride and so he took away their life
Mr. Media, who's to blame? We need another scapegoat
Hey, why is he pointing fingers at my boy in his suicide note?
Could it be we have a killer sleeping in the room beside us
Our sons and and daughters that could be responsible for the violence
You think what I'm saying is crazy? then it will happen again
How much could you really take before you gave it back to them
How many of those killers do you think went to their prom
Maybe if they were accepted they wouldn't have had time to build the bomb
but you closed your eyes and turn your heads every single day
You didn't stop your boy or girl from calling the other kid "gay"
You pretend that it's natural, claiming boys will be boys
You wouldn't be so easy-going though if he was your pride and joy
And just for the sake of argument, even if he wasn't
Should your boy or girl be treating other people like they're nothing?
If you think I'm full of crap and a little teasing's natural
Be prepared to back that up at your son or daughter's funeral
Until that day where every boy and girl is not rejected
Despite the way they look or act, the day when they'll be accepted
then the kids that we call different will keep making the news
But why should I be caring? It's your kid's life to lose
And I could throw out verse all day but if it's yet to make sense
Then I suggest you hit rewind before the next one downloads blueprints

I'm back again as if one verbal assault wasn't enough
Attacking your ethics and you morals, if you don't like it it's tough
Cuz I'm tired of seeing shootings make the front page every time
making the victims look like angels and the killer out of his mind
I'll admit there were some loonies in the group of kids who've gone ballistic
But every one of them was a loner, just check out the statistics
I'm not saying that what they did was right but I'm saying it was a reaction
to being treated by your kids with disrespect and no compassion
You don't get mad at the cause of their crime, you just get mad at the result
You blame the music and the movies like they're a satanic cult
I bet if your kid was friends with him he wouldn't be one who was aimed at
And if everybody became his friend you tell me who he would have came at
Nobody? that's right this whole thing never would've been started
and all it took was somebody who stood up for him and didn't call him retarded
We should teach our kids the lesson that every person is their own
and even if you don't like them you should at least leave them alone
Maybe then these troubled kids wouldn't treat the front page like a prize
Killing as many as they can to insure that they get the headlines
But it's not going to change with this, we need so much more than that
How about acceptance even if they're fat or don't have contacts
Whether or not they play sports or are on some academic team
Or have brand names on their shoes, this can't all just be a dream
Else people are gonna die because they were never taught tolerance
Because he or she can't accept someone for who he is or what he wants
Take responsibility for what you do, and even if sometimes it fails
We can still stop this atrocity most of the time, every time that love prevails
However, if your boys and girls aren't filled up with these beliefs
I guarantee you all that they will give some poor kid grief
And you might be surprised when that kid fights back with all he's got
But your kid won't be confused, they'll know exactly why they were shot
