Welcome to the 1999 Season

 

1999 Promises to be Another Interesting Season for the Linksturs: New Members and New Courses

 

Welcome to our new members: Herman Ellzy, Steve Ellzy, Steve Flynn and Dan Stevens. We now have a complement of 15 players, three of whom are named Steve and another two of which have “Steve” as the start of their last name. No more Steves, OK? J

 

We also have three new courses on our schedule this year: Tanglewood, Galen Hall and Willowbrook. Directions to all courses after Tanglewood will be included in subsequent newsletters, starting May 8^th.

 

In the off-season, our co-founder, Bob Welc, suffered a heart flutter and swore off golf for a few days. However, he seems to be doing better now and has been tempted out onto the courses a few times already this year.

 

Grant Blair underwent eye surgery to correct his vision, in the hope that he may never seven-putt again.

 

Attached are names, telephone numbers, handicaps and playing schedules for 1999. Please keep this sheet and refer to it throughout the summer.

 

We also have a USGA-provided educational video, “The Spirit of The Game”, for compulsory viewing, particularly by the B players. Please circulate this among as many people as possible.
