One of the Best Singers of All Time......
Mariah Carey
On August 23, 2006, New York had the priviledge of watching Mariah Carey perform at Madison Square Garden.....and what a performance it was...absolutely fantastic. It started off with Sean Paul providing the opening act (about 1 hour); then half-an-hour break, with the curtains down to fix the stage for the DIVA of all time.
At 9:30pm, the lights went dark, and the audience viewed a video of roller coasters, as Mariah's voice filled the air, describing how her life has been like a roller coaster with many ups and downs. Her first song was "It's Like That," very upbeat, and one of my favorites from her CD, The Emancipation of Mimi.
Other favorites include "My All," "Fly Like a Bird," "Hero," "Shake it Off", and "Honey." Jay-Z made a special guest-appearance in the beginning of her act. When "Honey" was performed, Diddy graced the stage, and danced with Mariah. Her last song was the famous "Butterfly" song; pink and purple confetti in the shape of butterflies were strewn on the audience, and thus marked the end of an outstanding performance. Can't wait until Mariah's next album. God Bless You, Mariah, for bringing so much joy and hope with your music.
