Andre Agassi played in the final on June 6, defeating Andrei Medvedev: 1-6, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4
Both the 1999 French Open winners had to work very hard in their game. Steffi Graf lost the first set, but she quickly did a turnabout and she gained control of the game. Andre Agassi lost the first two sets, but made a remarkable come-back, and won the next three sets with determination and concentration. This is Steffi Graf's 6th French Open win, and she will be there for Wimbledon. Andre Agassi is the fifth male tennis player in history to win each one of the Gram Slam titles. Both Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi are 29 years old, Steffi is currently ranked #6 and Andre is ranked #13.
