• Senior Software Engineer, Honeywell Air Transport Systems, Phoenix, AZ, March 1985 - Present
• System Modeling And Reporting Tool (SMART), 1999 to Present, Currently involved in the design and development of an enterprise Oracle 8i database and web-based application used to model aircraft avionics systems to replace the existing ICD (below) database.  The tool allows modeling logical and physical components, signal definitions, components interconnects,  and digital bus content using 3-tier technology.
• VALFAC ICD Capture Environment Tool (VICE), 1999 to 2000, Designed and implemented an MS Access database tool to manage snapshots from a common aircraft interconnection database (ICD) for use by the VMT (below).  The tool generates database difference reports as well as allows local overriding of ICD data to support avionics test system requirements.  The tool also contains an ARINC 429 bus defines generation algorithm that utilizes ICD data to autogenerate SSLI (below) scripts, eliminating a dozen existing tools and eliminating the need for a dedicated individual.
• VALFAC Modeling Tool (VMT) *, 1997 to 1999, Designed and implemented an MS Access database tool to automate design of and produce autogenerated wirelists, software configuration files, I/O definition files, and automated test procedure (ATP) scripts for avionics validation facilities (VALFACs) using a common aircraft interconnection database (ICD), realizing a savings of up to a man-year of labor per VALFAC system design. The VMT was successful in generating VALFAC system designs for the B717, MD95, MD10, MD11, Pegasus, A320, A340, B767-400, and E6B programs.
• VME Card Drivers, 1996, 1997, Developed C drivers and system software associated with various VME I/O cards used in real-time Unix-based flight simulation VALFACs including ARINC429 and RVDT/LVDT cards.
• Super-Script Language Interpreter (SSLI), 1996, Improved and maintained a Honeywell proprietary test script language interpreter written in C used as a user interface to the Unix-based VALFAC systems. Currently provide SSL language training to about 80-100 engineers per year.
• 737 FCC Dataload Via STS1000, 1996, Designed and developed O/S interface and dataload protocol to simulate a standard ARINC-615 dataloader on the Honeywell STS1000 ATLAS test system allowing the 737 Flight Control Computer to be factory-loaded with flight software after completing in-service testing.
• MonDFE Embedded Monitor Protocol For VIA, 1995, Ported MTM bus communication software (see below) to GNU C++ for AMD29K and created client-server monitor software to allow AMD's MonDFE software to be used as a stand-alone software development platform for avionics software.
• Modular Data Loading System (MDLS) *, 1994, Rewrote MTM bus communication software (see below) as C++ objects, created 32-bit DOS protected mode application layer software, and 80486 assembly code for a PC-based data loading system capable of loading flight software into surface-mount technology VIA (Versatile Integrated Avionics) modules using boundary scan IEEE1149.1.
• Module Test And Maintenance (MTM) Bus Communication Protocol, 1993, Designed portable session, transport, and link layer protocols and associated C code to provide fault-tolerant communications over an IEEE1149.5 bus from a Honeywell STS2000 host test system to multiple proprietary TIU (test interface unit) ASICs embedded within a 777 AIMS cabinet module.
• Fluke 9100A Level III Card-Edge Tests, 1991, 1992, Created card fixtures and component level stimulus routines used to test processor based CCA's (circuit card assemblies).
• Fluke 9100A Level III Test Environment (L3TE) *, 1989 to 1991, Created graphical generic test executive using the 9100A's native language that can be easily customized to provide component-level guided-fault isolation for avionics module processor CCA's.
• Embedded Test Programs For SDP185, 1989, Created assembly and Pascal language test program clients capable of being downloaded from a Honeywell STS2000 host test system to an embedded proprietary SDP185 processor card running inside the UUT (unit under test). Test included processor, boot CRC, EEPROM, and RAM tests.
• Control Panel Interface's (CPI), 1987, 1988, Developed 8088 assembly code for several versions of an IEEE488 controlled interface allowing a host test system to communicate to a UUTs internal local processor using a dual-port RAM scheme. Also responsible for creating wrap-around test fixtures and associated self-test diagnostics for each design.
• Intelligent Card Programmer (ICP), 1985, 1986, Participated in development and debug of 8088 assembly language boot and self-test code for a universal card-edge PROM programmer capable of downloading flight software from a DOS disk using an IEEE488 interface. Responsible for generating card-specific algorithms and interface fixtures to program a variety of EEPROM and UVPROM memory cards used in Honeywell products as well as the debug and repair of faulty ICP units.
