Just outside Washington D.C., this storied course had its beginnings in the early 1920s. On its opening day in 1924, Congressional boasted the attendance of President Calvin Coolidge, many diplomats, and an estimated 10,000 on-lookers. Even the laying of the cornerstone included the involvement of future President Herbert Hoover in 1923.
This superbly challenging course has provided a focus for major tournament golf in the nation’s capital, having hosted four national championships and four Kemper Opens.
In 1961, Robert Trent Jones was called upon to redesign Congressional in preparation for the 1964 US Open, and in 1990, his son, Rees Jones, added some finishing touches. This father/son combination, known for attention to detail, has produced a stunning championship layout. This site of the 1997 US Open features the Blue Course - 7219 yards of Maryland charm.

Congressional was released by Access as a stand alone add-on for Links LS. It was later re-released as an upgrade for the new features contained in Links LS 99. The latest release is a true to life recreation of the wonderful Congressional course. It is often recognised as one of the toughest in the links range, mainly because it is a long course. It offers a challange in a wonderful setting.
