The country club has traditionally been home to a
large number of aquatic birds. Their number has been drastically reduced (as has the
evidence of their digestion around the greens) through noise which frightens them off.
There still remain a few geese, some ducks, and one may occasionally see a Great
Blue Heron.
In addition to the bird life, many of the
ponds around the course have been stocked with grass carp (Ctenopharygodon idella) to
keep aquatic plant growth in check. They are excellent eating, but fishing is not
allowed.
