This page is where I brag about my best Golf score ever. This happened on 28 March 1999 (Long time ago now it seems). My home course
is Hervey Bay Golf Course situated in beautiful Hervey Bay. See links on this page or other pages for more

I have included
below the score card of my best game to date.
The CCR came in at 71. Having only played the
game seriously for the last 7 years I have been
gradually improving my handicap to its current
figure of 10.7 (11) As I only play
once or twice per week I am quite happy with my
progress. By the way that score included 11 pars
& 30 putts.
Stop Press:
It is now one week later & I have dropped to
10.3 (10) 12 pars & 30 putts. Keep watching for my progress.
Update 26 June 1999 - Unfortunately my progress has stopped. I am back to 11 after a number of bad games over the past few months.!!
Update 12 December 1999 - Still drifting out. Now
have a handicap of 13. Will take time off over
Christmas to practice & get back to
"A" Grade for new year.
Update 20 December 2000
- Still stuck on 13. Drifted back in to 12
briefly during the year.
It is now March 2001 and I have drifted out to 14 handicap. At least I can play to that handicap without practice.
It
is now 25 March 2002 and we have
just played off for the 2001 Tin Can Bay Cup (see
photo's). It
has taken 3 years to come close to the score
below. On this very enjoyable par 72 I scored a
83 off the stick on Saturday & a 79 gross on
Sunday. - Still not good enough to win the cup. It is January 2004 and we have won the 2002 Tin Can Bay Cup but lost it again in 2003. My handicap has drifted out to 16 & I am struggling to play once per week. Lets hope this is a better year...
It is now 2005 and my Golf has improved at last.
After waiting 15 years I have finally won my first Monthly MUG in May this year with a score of 68 net and handicap of 14. I still had 30 puts but it was a windy day which bought the field back to my level.
I had a good start to the Club Championships later in May with a 68 net in the first round but faded to have 75, 77, and 73 in the nex 3 rounds.
The 6th August 2005 was another good day with my second monthly mug for the year.
Off my handicap of 14 I had 40 off the stick on both nines to end with 66 net and beat the entire field of 161 players to take out the B Grade Mug and the Overall Mug for the month. No birdies in that lot. Only good solid play.
I qualified for the B Grade Match play Championships and knocked out the top seed in the first round but lost to the eventual winner in the next Round.
