Planning for 2007

Planning for this years event is well underway and being organized by Westy and Gav Howlett.

As the public holiday this year for Australia Day, falls on a Friday and creates a long weekend, the Tournament Management Committee decided a return to Dunsborough Lakes was in order. Another reason of course was the recent acquisition of the Dunsborough Lakes Development by the Aspen Group (Hawkeye and Delbo).

At this stage the plan is to Tee off on Saturday morning (27th) at 7am. The normal rules will apply. Pairs better ball, with each player to use three Tee offs per nine. The after match will be down at Centenary Park, where wives and kids will be treated to a stroke by stroke recount of each players game. Costs haven’t been finalized yet but will be all inclusive of food and refreshments at the game and afterwards.

Numbers are also still up in the air as the distance has put a few off, but we will pick up a few of the country boys from down that way.

Some of the confirmed names so far are: Westy, Howlett, Wrighty, Besty, Hawkeye, Delbo, Rocky, Cheese, Rosey, Clape, Shawry, Cheatin Ian, Keith, Povey. I have probably left off a few names here.

The draw for partners will occur a few days prior to give us time to post a book with some rough odds.

There is still time to nominate, so email Westy at  westy64@westnet.com.au to confirm your spot.
