Hawk and Hangers claim victory.

A sensational 5 birdies on the front nine for an outward total of 31, set up a one stroke victory for Hawkeye and Hangers in the annual EPOB Australia Day Golf Classic for 2005.  A bogie, bogie  start was not a true indication of what was to come, as they then reeled off three straight birdies to go sub par, grab the lead in the tournament and not look back. There is already talk amoungst a few players of a Fine Cotton type affair as Hangers has now gone two wins from two starts and anyone who has seen him play can't see how this could be possible. Hawkeye was quick to grab the trophy and it will proudly hang in the Aspen office boardroom. Besty and Shane stormed home going  birdie, birdie, birdie to finish on 72, one stroke behind. There was a log jam for third, with Rocky and Rosey  just getting the nod. NAGAs for this year were Lino and Brendan. A good showing at the aftermatch saw some punters picking a few winners and while there weren't as many collections as last year, we still had plenty of beers and laughs. Quite a few headed of to the Queens and the old Brisbane and stumps were drawn about midnight.
