The weather in Anchorage this spring has been delightful, and the golf season started earlier than usual. AWGA had their kick-off spring luncheon. All the local courses sent their pros/managers to talk to the ladies. Some contact names you may want to e-mail are the new president, Shona Hill and the Membership Chair, Marlene Goselin.

Last year, the Girl Scouts Susitna Council established a program for girl scouts who sign up for golf education. This program proved to be very popular for girls between the ages of 8-18, and continues to attract new golfers thruout the winter as they play at a local indoor range. RINGER Competition: The 'ringer pot' is shared by those who improve the most. The ringer board is posted at each of the three courses on ladies'day and during AWGA golf tournaments.
HOLE-IN-ONE "Bar Bill" insurance: This voluntary insurance fund protects the lucky lady who gets that hole-in-one and doesn't want to go home broke.
