Saint Patrick's Day March 17, observed by the Irish in honor of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland

Holy, Holy, Holy, merciful and mighty!
God in Three Persons, blessed Trinity.
a: Reginald Heber hymn

"There are a lot of things that I know, but that I don't understand," a friend said to me one day. "And one of them is the Trinity. How can God be three separate beings and yet remain a single entity? It staggers my mind!"
"It staggered my mind, also, trying to comprehend how the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit--completely different--can be God, Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient.
"It helps to read about Ireland's patron saint. Apparently St. Patrick's students had impressed the same concern. In explanation he plucked a shamrock and said, "The Trinity is like this shamrock." He pointed to its three leaves, each one distinct and separate yet all growing from a single stem.
"I think of St. Patrick's shamrock whenever I wonder about the Three-In-One. Is simplicity gives me faith to believe in the mysterious complexity of the Trinity--Something I know, but don't understand.

Father, thank You that You never said we had to understand Your ways--which are too much for our human comprehension. All You asked us to do is to faithfully believe Your marvelous words and leave the rest up to You.
