Thanksgiving at Our House

Thanksgiving day is usually a hustle of activity in our house. We are either making the core of the meal, such as turkey, potatoes, and the vegetable, with anticipation of family coming... or we are cooking something to contribute to the meal being at another family members house. Either way, its a wonderful day of smells, tastes, and excitement!
The day usually starts with us putting up our Christmas tree. This is the actual start to the Holidays for me. There is such a feeling of happiness and love in the air. Then, the smell of the turkey starts to permeate the house with its odors, making each of us hungrier and hungrier as the minutes pass. Things seem rather festive, as we are preparing the rest of the meal, such as peeling potatoes, making rolls, or just opening cans.
This is the one day of the year when I really take a good look at my family and appreciate them for all they do during the year. Bob, and the way he works so hard for us, with very little thanks... Angela, and the way she always has a smile on her face. She could cheer the heart of an ogre! Wendy, and her drive to succeed! Amy, and her bubbly attitude and positive outlook for Jesus. Tim, and his giving attitude towards others. And then there is Dezirae... she is just a baby but she makes my life feel more complete.
We have so much to be thankful for! We have all the freedoms we could enjoy in one lifetime. The most precious freedom to me, is the freedom of religion. We don't have to worry too much about standing for the cause of Jesus Christ and the Bible. Praise the Lord.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.
